No Sew Ribbon Key Fob Key Chain Tutorial

Materials needed:
Most of these supplies can be purchased at:
everythingribbons.etsy.com

Step 1:

Iron a piece of 7/8" Heat 'n Bond to the wrong side of your ribbon.  Don't press it too long, as this is the point where you can disintegrate the glue.  Make sure the piece has cooled before you strip off the paper, otherwise you tend to take some of the glue with it.

Step 2:

Center the ribbon on the webbing and press it with the iron.  Now you need to press it longer, as it takes longer to get the heat through the ribbon.  Steam also helps.  The Heat n' Bond holds up pretty well by itself.

Step 3:

Fold the webbing in half, with the ribbon showing on the outside.  You can also trim up the ends and use Fray Check to prevent any ragged edges, if you prefer.

Step 4:

Clamp the key fob end tip over the raw edges of the webbing with pliers.  Use a cloth or piece of paper to prevent scratching the hardware, but unfortunately, that makes it hard to see what you are doing.  Another option is you can purchase the key fob pliers if you plan on doing a large quantity.  Make sure you crimp the hardware as tightly as you can to the webbing.

Step 5:

Using the flat blade of a screwdriver, pry open the key ring and slip it onto the hook of the key fob.

Stitch the ribbon down both sides. The Heat n' Bond holds pretty well, but the stitch will definitely last much longer.

Step 4:

Fold the webbing in half, with the ribbon showing on the outside. Stitch the raw edges together.  This just helps it keep from slipping when you attach the hardware.  You can also trim up the ends and use Fray Check to prevent any ragged edges, if you prefer.

No Sew Interchangeable Ribbon Pacifier Clip Tutorial

Materials Needed:
·     hammer
Most of these supplies can be purchased at: everythingribbons.etsy.com

Step 1:

Seal ribbon ends with a lighter.

Note:  If you have never done this before, get the flame close to the edge of the ribbon, but not quite touching.  If you are close enough  you will see the edge melt.  Just run it across quickly.  I would test this on a scrap piece of ribbon first to get some practice.

Step 2:

On the wrong side of the ribbon, mark with a pen in the center of the ribbon at the .5 inch mark  and again at the 2.5 inch mark from ribbon end.  Do the same on the other end.

If you use a permanent marker, just be careful because the permanent marker will go thru the ribbon or fabric.  Just lightly mark it.

Step 3:

Attached your snaps with your easy attacher, snap pliers, snap setter or with just a spool of thread and a hammer.  There are 4 parts to the snaps.  2 prongs, 1 female socket (the one that is flat with a hole in the center) and 1 male stud (the one with a little pimp sticking out).   Assemble the set of the female socket and prong at the .5 inch mark and the male stud and prong at the 2.5 inch mark.  Do the same on the other end.  Placing it like this will make it interchangeable.

Step 4:

Attach the suspender clip.  Just make sure it is facing the right direction.  To attach to a pacifier, just open the snap up and wrap it around the handle of the pacifier.  For the button type pacifiers, you can attach a mam ring adaptor at the end of the pacifier holder that will attach to most button type pacifiers.
